Welcome to Tianqiao District
Tianqiao District is in the northern area of Jinan City, the capital city of Shandong Province. Covering a land area of 249 square kilometers with population of 0.505million, Tianqiao District, where the Yellow River runs across, exercises jurisdiction over 13 sub district offices and 2 townships. A huge bridge built in 1911 spans Jinpu Railway and Jiaoji Railway. In Chinese, Tianqiao means a bridge in the heaven, so the district’s name comes from it.
Tianqiao District enjoys superior location and convenient transportation. It’s only 25km away from Jinan International Airport. Jinan Railway Station, Jinan Long-distance Bus Station and Jinan International Container Distribution Center are within the district. 21 roads such as Beiyuan Street, Jiluo Road, Jingyi Road, Dikou Road compose the main transportation network in the district. NO. 104 National Highway, NO.220 Highway, NO.308 Highway, NO309 Highway join together in the district from north, east and west. Jinan-Qingdao Expressway and Beijing-Fuzhou Expressway run across the district, and all mentioned above form a superior transportation network.
Industries in Tianqiao District play an important role in Jinan. More than 800 enterprises are engaged in industries such as auto-making, textile, papermaking, packaging and so on. The tertiary industry is continuously prosperous with 50-odd professional wholesale markets in the fields like dress, building materials, decoration, furniture, etc., which rank top in sales volume. Beiyuan Street, where Qinghe Commercial Area is its center is the most prosperous area in Jinan.
Tianqiao District takes economic development as the most important thing in recent years, focusing two plans that are transformation of old city area and developing new city area respectively. According to the new city layout of central evacuation and north crossover, Tianqiao District will reconstruct two trunk roads, that is, Jiluo Road and Jingyi Road, and build high-grade commercial areas. The district will develop North Lake Citizen Culture Section, which covers the North Lake, the Municipal Government Affair Center and Citizen Culture Square, and gradually an economic pattern with the integration of “hill, spring, lake, river and city” will be formed. The district will accelerate to develop the north section of the Yellow River, where Daqiao Township and Sangzidian Township cover an area of 185 square kilometers. With the plan to construct large-scale tourism projects, a new and modern north section will be presented.
